Since the first time I found out about you and felt you kicking in our mothers womb, you have always been the greatest gift she ever gave me and you remain so to this day.

Eboni, you are the strongest, most resilient person that I know, and what is so remarkable is that you endure with supreme joy and irreverent humor. From you I have learned how to dance in the midst of struggle and to transmute adversity into stories and lessons on celebrating the moment.

I am proud of your growth and your evolution as a mother, wife, friend and student. I am in awe of you as a caretaker, a savvy woman who handles her business and I am grateful for the many years you have held me close in heart and supported my pursuit for more freedom for all of us.
