As a man in Black Skin moving towards freedom from a life sentence I have found that there are prisons as denigrating as the ones the court sentenced me to: The prisons of others expectations.

Imagine being wrongfully convicted of senselessly killing the father of Michael Jordan. I mean, really think about it. How would you ? Would you give up?

Would you say whatever those in the position to free you want you to say even if it’s against your values, your principles, and your way?

Would you hide your indignation, or would you prioritize making those who took your life , comfortable so they can continue to do it to others with a grace clean conscience?
